Snow White (+ a Frye Boot Review)

j.crew 2013 outfits

Coat: J.Crew (or in solid colors here) | Shirt: J.Crew | Jeans: Joe's (similar here) | Sunglasses: Chloe | Scarf: Target | Boots: Frye "Melissa Button" (on sale in the color I'm wearing--burgundy brush-off) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (similar here | Necklace: LOFT (similar here) | Watch: Michael Kors

Quick review for you guys today! I'm loving these gorgeous Frye boots that recently made their way to me. I ordered two colors--both on sale--from Zappos (burgundy brush-off and dark brown waxy suede), and while the brown boots were lovely, these reddish-brown beauties were the clear winner.

I have wanted a pair of Fryes for a while and spent some time researching and trying on different styles in stores. I loved the Lindsey Plate and the Paige Tall Riding, but both were tall and wide at the top, so the proportions looked off on me. The Melissa Buttons were definitely my favorite--slim through the calf and ankle, but still roomy enough to wear them with skinny jeans and socks. The dip at the top of the shaft is very flattering, and their not-quite-knee-high rise is great for petite ladies. On top of that, they were comfy and blister-free right out of the box.

  9. Thanks for the review! I'm petite too and was wondering which style of Fryes might be the best for me. I'm going to try the Melissas! The burgundy is an amazing price right now. Hope you dont mind if I copy and get the same ones =D

  11. I know this is an older post but I absolutely love the Melissa Button Frye boots! I live in Canada and I am unable to try the boots in store. I am 5'4", I wear size 26 jeans, my calf are 14.5" at the widest. I am wondering what size are your calf? And did you order the regular boot or the extended calf version? I hear there is about 1 inch difference between the two. I love the fit of the boots on you, and I am a little nervous to order such expensive boots online without being able to try on a pair and compare the regular with the extended calf ones.....
    P.S. I love your style!
