Our Parisian Wedding -- Part II: Louvre, Seine, and a Café

I'm back today to share more photos from our wedding in Paris (Part I is here if you missed it).

After our ceremony on the Pont des Arts, we spent some time walking around near the Louvre, taking in the gorgeous architecture and morning light without a tourist in sight. It felt like we were on a movie set and the city was there just for us. Our photographer, Juliane, knew exactly where all the prettiest spots were and got some lovely shots of us and our beautiful surroundings.

After our walk around the Louvre courtyard, we crossed the Pont des Arts again and stopped at a cute little cafe facing the Seine on the Left Bank. Sean and I have lattes at home together every morning, so we decided to have our first married morning lattes here.

I hand-lettered and digitized designs that said "Monsieur" and "Madame" and had them printed on cappuccino cups similar to the ones we use at home. They survived the trip over in my suitcase, and the barista happily served us our coffee in our fancy new mugs.

We also took a stroll by the Seine and watched the sun climb through the clouds and into the sky. It was so peaceful and pretty--perfect for a couple private moments between us.

Since Sean is the primary photographic talent behind this blog, it woudln't have felt right unless he snapped a few photos, too. On went the sunglasses and out came our Canon for a couple shots. In this photo, we're doing what we typically do a couple times a week: reviewing photos "on location."

Just to be a teeny bit sappy for a moment--I am so grateful that I have a partner who is so supportive in all my endeavors. Whether I'm stuck in an intense trial for weeks, grappling with how to give the children I represent what they need, frustrated with my calligraphy on a particular day, or just can't seem to make anything but grumpy faces when it's time to take outfit pictures, he is behind me, in front of me, or beside me--whichever is most appropriate and helpful to me. I feel very fortunate that he made the decision to become my husband.

We then got back in the Citroën and continued our tour aroud the city. It was fun to have the avenues open and to get to where we wanted to go quickly--although we really enjoyed riding in Didier's car. It was nice to have someone who knows the city, the streets, and the language well.
