I learned a couple things on my trip to Paris.

1. The people who said Paris in the springtime was generally chilly and rainy were absolutely right. I thought I was prepared to ward off the cool weather and some spring showers when I packed my umbrella and rain boots, but the chill was a little more biting than I had expected--fifty degrees in dry, sunny Denver is very different from fifty degrees, damp, and raining in Paris.

Enter this fabulous Zara leather jacket, which was both reasonably priced (even in euros) and the perfect fit. I'd been searching high and low for a petite-friendly leather motorcycle jacket in the U.S. that met these criteria to no avail, yet there it was right when I needed it. I was warm and cozy for the rest of the trip. (Although the black jacket I have appears to be out of stock online at the moment, you can still snag the cream one right now.)

2. Always bring your charger and a back-up battery for your fancy camera. I wish I had lots of gorgeous photos to share with you, but my DSLR camera ended up being an expensive and awkwardly-shaped paperweight after I forgot to pack these essentials. Live and learn! On the bright side, I am continually impressed with the quality of the photos one can take with the iPhone 4S.

Life lessons notwithstanding, it was truly a lovely trip. I adored the city, the food, the shopping, the history, the art, and the Parisians, and I can't wait to go again!

  2. Looks like you had a fab time and fitted right in style-wise! Thank goodness for international chains at times like these, right? I remember going to Florence in March and needed a full length coat.
I'm impressed too, your photos are great!

  3. I was just in Paris recently too! It rained nearly the entire time I was there. Ugh. Oh well. It was still quite lovely. After all, Paris smells it's sweetest in the rain :)

    1. I got an XS. I'm amazed at how well it fits. Usually the sleeves are way too long, but they were just right on me, and the torso is perfectly snug when it's zipped up.

    2. That's so useful to know - thank you for sharing. I think I might be a size bigger but was always put off since the sleeves are usually very long. This jacket is perfect on you! I might even chance the XS as I can't carry off any excess room expecially with leather.

    3. Just a word of caution--the XS is very snug when zipped up on me, especially if I wear a cardigan or something underneath. The S wasn't that much bigger, so you might be able to wear the small. Zara does have free shipping and returns in the U.S., so you can always try both!

  5. Aww I'm sorry you weren't able to use your DSLR much, but I have to say the ones you took with the iPhone are amazing! The outfit photos in particular are beautiful with the Paris backdrop. I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip. Thank you for sharing with us!

  7. Thank you for sharing your trip! Paris looks lovely. I have only been there 1 time but that was when I was 8 and very cranky from the time difference, the jet lag and the food! I wanted super sized portions of the food rather than the small European portions. The only thing I truly remembered liking about Paris: the first time I ever had Indian food. Yummy and in Paris.

  8. Beautiful photos! And of course, adorable outfits. I was in Paris last June and it was raining and freezing the whole time!
