Layered Necklaces with Gorjana x Rocksbox

Hello Framboise Culotte Jumpsuit
Culotte jumpsuit: Topshop | Denim Jacket: J.Crew | Shoes: Joie | Bag: Valentino | Bracelets: Vintage, HM, BR | Necklaces: Gorjana x Rockbox c/o | Earrings: Gorjana via Rocksbox c/o |

I've teamed up with Gorjana and Rocksbox today to show you this pretty, new, exclusively-on-Rocksbox set of layered necklaces from Gorjana. I thought they went well with a simple, easy weekend outfit: a jersey jumpsuit from Topshop coupled with my latest favorites: this denim jacket and these amazing lace-up shoes.

Hello Framboise x Gorjana x Rocksbox

Jumpsuit + Rockstud Tote

Have you signed up for Rocksbox yet? If you haven't, my code to get your first month's subscription delivered to your door for free is helloframboisexoxo. I love subscription boxes, especially when I get to expand my accessory collection and wear some cute pieces inexpensively to change up my usual look. Those who read here regularly know I'm not much of a jewelry chameleon, but Rockbox makes my day whenever it arrives, and it encourages me to incorporate new pieces. I've had my subscription since March and have had a lot of fun with it. If you have questions about signing up, email me, and I'm always happy to answer.

Congrats to Rocksbox and Gorjana on such a fun collab--glad I got to be a part of it! Hope you have a lovely rest of your week, readers!

Transitioning to Fall: J.Crew Denim Jacket & rag + bone Margot Booties

JCrew denim jacket

Fall transition outfit

Coach Classic Shoulder Bag

Button-up skirt + denim jacket
Jacket: J.Crew | Top: Anthropologie (last styled here) | Skirt: Urban Outfitters | Booties: rag + bone 'Margot' Bag: Coach | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Necklace: Loren Hope c/o Rocksbox (detailed Rocksbox review here) Earrings: Gorjana c/o Rocksbox | Watch: Michael Kors

Last fall, I got my first pair of rag + bone booties, the 'Newbury' style from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (see me style them here). After finding them to be very cute and comfy, I then decided to add the 'Harrow' booties to my collection over the winter. When I started walking in them and found that the 3.5" heel felt like no heel at all, I was hooked (full review here). Now I've fallen hard for another style: the 'Margot,' which I'm wearing in this post. I had initially ordered them in black, but found the leather to look too similar to my Newburys and returned them; I was thrilled to finally snag a camel pair (thank you, Nordstrom Customer Service!).

Similar to my Harrows, the Margots are extremely comfortable, and it's hard to believe how high the heel is when you walk in them. The camel suede is a beautiful color, and it has a nice leg-lengthening effect. I like the ankle area of these more than my Harrows, actually, as it's more fitted for petite ankles. I'm wearing these now with skirts and shorts, but they'll transition nicely into cooler fall weather. A tip if you decide to spring for a pair: rag + bone footwear seems to run about a size small. I normally wear a 35 (5-5.5 US) in designer shoes, and 36 fits me well in all the styles I've mentioned here.

J.Crew has started offering some of their petite line in XXXSP and 000P, and when I saw this cute denim jacket on Kelly of Alterations Needed, I ordered an XXXSP to try myself. I think I would have been fine with my usual XXSP given how this jacket fits, but I like how slim this one is. Although it's too fitted on me for layering with long-sleeved tops, it's a nice late summer/early fall jacket. I'm looking forward to wearing it more often soon, but I'm going to fully enjoy the 90+ temperatures forecasted for this weekend.

Happy Friday!

Beachy Vibes

7FAM Destroyed Denim Shorts

Loren Hope Jewels + Scalloped Top + 7FAM Denim

Loren Hope Blythe Necklace via Rocksbox

Cutoffs + Le Pliage at the Beach
Top: Urban Outfitters | Shorts: 7 For All Mankind (also on sale here with some small sizes left) | Hat: Anthropologie (mine was on sale in store, but found this one and this one in the online sale section) | Bag: Longchamp | Shoes: Tory Burch | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Watch: Michael Kors | Necklace: Loren Hope c/o Rocksbox (detailed Rocksbox review here) | Bracelet: Vintage | Right Hand Ring: c/o Rocksbox

Our wonderful, relaxing family week at the beach is drawing to a close--just like summer, sadly. I'm looking forward to all the new fall stuff I'm starting to see in stores, but I have been making a point this week to just take in the happiness of summer to try and get myself refreshed and ready to #GSD at work. Later this week, I'm going to post about my recent mindfulness mini-project of focusing on the good and really letting it soak into my thoughts and increase my happiness and satisfaction. Stay tuned if you want to join in!

A little about what I'm wearing: I've been looking for the perfect pair of destructed denim shorts all summer, and after sending back a couple pairs from J Brand and rag + bone, two of my go-to denim labels, I was thinking I might not find something that worked before summer ended. I kept finding the shorts to be too "boyfriend" styled, and my normal size was slouching right off my hips. I then ran across the 7FAM pair I'm wearing here, and they were a good fit for me size-wise (23 for reference), and they were just the color and level of distressing I had wanted. I've been wearing them a ton here at the beach!

My sandals are the Tory Burch pair that was available during Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale at a discount. The price has gone up, unfortunately, but knowing what I know now, I would be seriously considering buying them at full price. They are so elegant and comfortable; I've actually been wearing them as commuting shoes to work for a couple weeks, and I have gotten tons of compliments on them. If you missed out on these during the #NSale, snap them up now, or just add them to your wishlist and wait until the price drops again.

I'm still loving my Rocksbox subscription, which this month surprised me with the Loren Hope necklace I've had wishlisted for a while. It's so much fun to have a constantly rotating jewelry closet and to get a variety of pieces of higher-end costume jewelry to wear that ordinarily would be out of my budget. If you want to sign up too and give it a try, you can get a month free with my code: helloframboisexoxo.

That's all for now! Hope you've enjoyed your weekend!

Travel Diary: Stripes in Kings Park, Perth

Tam in Topshop in Perth
Dress: Topshop (identical in red here or similar in a Bardot style or a sleeveless style for summer) | Shoes: Splendid | Bag: Valentino | Necklace: Perry Street via Rocksbox | Earrings: Gorjana via Rocksbox | Bracelet: Vintage | Watch: Michael Kors

Happy Monday! I have another post from our Australia trip for you today. This amazing setting is Kings Park and Botanic Gardens in Perth, Western Australia. The park and botanic gardens are enormous and have an incredible view of the city and harbor. We stopped by and wandered through right around sunset before heading to dinner.

Perth Overlook

Splendid Greenville Wedges

A quick plug for the Splendid platform slides I'm sporting here: I've been wearing these non-stop this spring and summer. They were comfortable right out of the box, with a padded footbed and a nicely balanced platform. The combination of comfort, a couple extra inches in height, and the leg-lengthening nude color have made these my go-to summer footwear this year.

Hello Framboise Rocksbox Perry Street Necklace

The necklace and earrings I'm wearing in this post are both pieces from my Rocksbox subscription. For all the details on Rocksbox, check out my review post here. If you're interested in signing up, you can use the code "helloframboisexoxo" to get a free month of jewels sent your way.

Below is a photo of me with my lovely and stylish sister-in-law, who gets to live in this beautiful city. She and her husband were such great hosts to Sean and me, especially given that I was still reeling from my hand injury and needing follow-up care. We can't wait to go back and visit again, injury-free.

Tam & Court

I'll leave you with a last shot from the end of the sunset over the harbor. The colors were so vivid and beautiful!

For my fellow American readers, I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day weekend! You can shop my look in the photos below!

Hello, Again

Back to Blog

Hi, again, readers! As I was preparing to write this post, I realized it has been just under three months since I last posted here while I was getting ready for my big adventure in Australia. If you had asked me just before that if I ever considered taking an extended break from my blog, I would have said, "No way." But life happens, and life was telling me I needed a break.

Not long after my last post here, I learned my grandmother, with whom I was very close, had passed away very suddenly. It ripped a hole in my heart that was too big and raw to share with anyone but those closest to me. Although it was difficult, Sean and I headed off to Australia not long after. I kept up the sunny, happy posts on social media, and I took some outfit photos while we were there, but I couldn't bring myself to edit or post them here. I couldn't seem to muster up even an ounce of creative spark, and looking at my blog made me tear up because my grandmother always enjoyed looking at my outfits and photos so much.

While we were in Australia, my family's sweet rescue pup, who was somewhere around 16 or 17, finally got to the point where he was very ill and in pain. My parents made the difficult decision to let him go. Even though I knew this was coming, it hurt my already-broken heart.

Then, to add injury to insult, I suppose, I suffered a serious injury while out diving in the Great Barrier Reef. As I was climbing back into the boat, the ladder I was using moved suddenly and crushed two of my fingers. Ending up in an Australian hospital needing surgery and wondering if I'd ever be able to use those fingers again was definitely not on the itinerary. With lots and lots of help from Sean, I made it through the rest of the trip and back home.

Okay, that was the bad part--good part is coming up next.

Tam's Bedroom

Now, two months later, post-rehab, I am back to typing with my bones healed and my fingernails growing back (pretty thrilled about all of those things). My heart is slowly mending, and I have learned quite a bit about taking care of myself.

So where to next? I want to share some of the things I've learned over the last couple months with you, and I plan to open the window into my life a little wider in my future posts. I already love sharing outfits, shopping, and travel with you, but I'm thinking I'll add some posts that talk about my exercise routine, my journey to eating healthier, my strategies for coping with anxiety and difficult times, and the tips and tricks I've found useful.

In the spirit of sharing more, here's the wide-angle view of the first pic in this post--a shot of my little sanctuary, my bedroom. It's my favorite room in my house, and most of this blog has been written sitting right here.

P.S. Thanks so much for reading, friends. This was a hard post to write. Tune in later this week for a much more lighthearted topic: how I survived a 16-hour flight and my tips for long-haul plane travel.

Vacation Simple

White skinnies + Converse sneakers

Michael Kors Slim Runway Rose Gold + Rocksbox rings

Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars Classic White

Casual-preppy vacation look
Hat: J.Crew | Tee: J.Crew 'Petite Knit Scoopneck Tee' | Long-Sleeved Tee (around waist): Topshop | Denim: 7FAM 'Slim Illusion Skinny' in 'Stark White' | Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor Low Sneakers | Bag: Longchamp | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Watch: Michael Kors | Rings: Wanderlust + Co. via Rocksbox

I've been loving the everyday-comfy pieces that have been trending lately--simple tees, jeans, and classic tennies are so easy to wear. To make sure the look is more 2015 than mom-circa-1992, I like to keep my tees and jeans fitted and proportional, and I add layers and on-trend accessories for extra interest.

Speaking of fitted tees, I was thrilled when J.Crew started making some of their knits available in petite sizes. The scoop-neck tee I'm wearing here is available in petite and regular sizing, and the petite makes such a difference on me. Usually, my favorite tees are a bit too long, and the armholes and shoulders aren't quite where they ought to be on me. With this one, the proportions look just right on my frame, and the length doesn't require me to fold or tuck it at the bottom. I'm hoping they make even more knit styles available in petite sizing in future collections.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

P.S. Don't forget you can get a free month of designer jewels (like the pretty Wanderlust + Co. rings I'm wearing in this post) delivered to your door when you sign up for Rocksbox with my code: helloframboisexoxo. Check out my review post for more details on the program!

Hello, Framboise + Rocksbox (+ a Free Month of Sparkle)

Destroyed denim + layers

Casual layers + gold

Gorjana V necklace via Rocksbox

Rocksbox review
Cardigan: GAP | Tee: J.Crew Factory | Vest: ZARA Kids | Denim: J Brand (26" inseam = great no-alterations petite jeans!) | Boots: rag & bone | Bag: Valentino | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Watch: Michael Kors | Earrings: J.Crew | Tricolor Gold Bracelet: Vintage | "V" Necklace: Gorjana via Rocksbox | "X" Ring: Wanderlust + Co. via Rocksbox | Labradorite Bangle: Margaret Elizabeth via Rocksbox

Guys, I am really excited about today's post! I've teamed up with Rocksbox to share some details on their fun jewelry subscription service with you and to give you all a month of free jewels if you sign up within the next 30 days! In order to get the month free, just enter the code helloframboisexoxo in the promo box when you sign up, and pretty designer baubles will be on their way to your door shortly.

Here's how it works: you sign up and create an account, part of which includes taking a style survey to help the Rocksbox stylists learn more about your taste in jewels. Just FYI: as part of the sign-up, you enter payment info, but you are not obligated to buy anything at all unless you love it and want to keep what you receive! You also get a 20% discount off MSRP should you decide to keep any pieces.

Once your stylist has your info, you'll get a notice that your first Rocksbox has shipped with three pieces for you to borrow. I'm wearing all three of my pieces from my first box in the pic above: a Gorjana "V" necklace, Margaret Elizabeth bangle, and Wanderlust + Co. "X" ring (links are to sites where they are available to purchase, but you can borrow the same pieces from Rocksbox then buy at a discount!).

You can borrow the pieces for as long as you like, but whenever you're ready for new pieces, you just pack up the ones you have (unless you've decided to keep any of them) and return them using the label and padded envelope that comes included in your original package. As soon as they receive your return package, your stylist gets to work picking out a new set for you. I just did my first exchange, and I think it was about two hours between when I saw they got my return and when I got my new shipping notification and tracking info. Shipping time is quick (about 2 days) and by USPS, with no signatures required, so it's really easy to send and receive.

While you can definitely let your stylist do all the choosing, you can also request pieces through the wishlist on the Rocksbox site or through their Instagram (@rocksbox). You can then check back and see which wishes have been fulfilled and add to your list when new pieces are posted. So far, I've really enjoyed having shiny new jewels to mix in with my old standards--hope you guys have as much fun as I have trying it out!

Happy Valentine's Day!

x, Tam

Disclosure: I was gifted a three-month subscription to Rocksbox in exchange for posting about my experience. All opinions here are my own.
