Ski Weekend Uniform

Stripe turtleneck + Excursion vest + Sorel Slimpack boots

Madewell Transport Tote English Saddle

Stripe turtleneck + Excursion vest + Madewell Transport Tote
Vest: J.Crew | Turtleneck: J.Crew | Hat: J.Crew | Denim: J Brand | Boots: Sorel | Tote: Madewell | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Earrings: Gorjana via Rocksbox | Watch: Michael Kors

This look is from last weekend in the mountains--this hat, these cozy boots, and my J.Crew tissue turtleneck tees in every color have become my uniform for casual outfits on ski weekends (see a similar look in this post). If you've been following my Snapchat (username: helloframboise), you've probably seen that Colorado has gotten tons of snow in the mountains recently, and I've been out skiing as much as I can, and then relaxing outside enjoying the winter weather while it lasts.

Although I'm a summer girl at heart, skiing's been such a part of my life since I was a little girl (age 2 or 3) that I can't really hate on winter. It's a fun thing to do with my husband and my whole family, including my rockstar little brother Mark Nowakiwsky (so proud of him). If you are ready to see some crazy skiing, watch one of his more recent videos here (see him between 1:15-3:21 or so and get ready to be amazed at the crazy flips and skills--this is what I have to try to keep up with!). You can follow Mark on Instagram: @marknowakiwsky for more awesome ski videos from his travels around the world.

Thanks for reading! Hope you're having a great week!

Marshmallow World

Plaid + stripes + Sorels

Valentino Rockstud Tote

J Crew Pom-Pom Hat
Shirt: J.Crew (sold out, but I like this one that's still available) | Turtleneck: J.Crew | Denim: J Brand | Hat: J.Crew | Boots: Sorel (read my review) | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Bag: Valentino

Quick Monday post today! I'm sharing a super-casual look from last weekend in the mountains. Sean and I headed up to do some skiing, and we were lucky enough to catch some fresh powder. The day before these photos were taken, it snowed nearly a foot where we were staying. We awoke the next morning to a perfect, bright bluebird day. The snow looked so pretty in the sunshine! I'm very excited to head back up to the mountains for skiing and Christmas celebrations with my family later this week.

Have a wonderful week!

Holiday Cozy Outfit + J.Crew Chateau Parka Review + My Picks from the Best of Cyber Monday 2015

J Crew Chateau Parka Review
Coat: J.Crew | Sweater: J.Crew (40% off today with code MONDAY) | Denim: 7FAM (40% off today) | Boots: MICHAEL Michael Kors | Bag: Coach | Sunglasses: Karen Walker (part of Shopbop's Cyber Monday tiered promo with code GOBIG15) | Necklace: Slate + Earrings: Gorjana via Rocksbox | Watch: Michael Kors

Yesterday was a gray and chilly day in Denver, so Sean and I headed over to Union Station to get brunch and check out the pretty Christmas decorations. We braved the cold for a few photos but mostly stayed cozy inside. It was the perfect opportunity to test run my new Chateau Parka.

Cozy details

I've had this coat on my wishlist since last winter, and I waited and waited for it to go on sale as the $365 full price was a bit steep. Unfortunately, it never seems to be part of the percent-off promotions J.Crew often runs. I waited until they had a tiered promotion and went for it then. When it arrived, I was happy to see that the quality was similar to my other higher-end wool coats. There is some pretty topstitching on the zipper placket and all seams appear to be well-constructed.

I did find that there was a less expensive version of this coat at J.Crew Factory: the Vail Parka. I had the opportunity to try it on in person in regular sizing, and while the finishing wasn't quite as nicely done as it is on the retail version, and the wool isn't quite as heavy, it is still a very cute coat, and the price point is much more affordable. It is down to only $115 for select colors ($139 for the rest) today as part of their Cyber Monday deal.

Hello Framboise Holiday

I took my regular J.Crew coat/dress size, 00P, and it fit me as expected. I saw some reviews that advised to size down, but I disagree. The 00P was the right size for me, especially given that in cold temperatures, I want to be able to layer or wear bulkier sweaters under it. At 4'11", the petite sizing was the right choice for me, but if you're a couple inches taller, I'd consider trying this coat on in regular sizing to make sure the overall and sleeve length work for you.

Another common complaint I noted in reviews was that the body of the coat was "too big." The body is an A-line, swing coat shape and bells out at the bottom. For me, I liked the silhouette and found it looked flattering and different from my other wool coats. The swing shape and fur-trimmed hood were what ultimately convinced me that this piece would be something unique in my coat closet.

Cozy parka + turtleneck

Yesterday's temperatures only reached a high of 27°F/-3°C, and I was comfortable taking an evening walk in this coat with a chunky sweater underneath. I was lamenting my failure to bring mittens or gloves, but the front pockets kept my hands relatively warm despite a chilly wind. I was warm and dry even when a light snow began to fall, but heavier snow or wetter conditions would mean bringing out my water-resistant down coat or parka.

J Crew Chateau Parka Holiday

I'm so excited for decorating my house this week now that we've returned from our Thanksgiving weekend in the mountains. I am trying to get my shopping done as soon as I can to make the Christmas season as stress-free as possible. If your inbox looks anything like mine, making a plan for shopping today is a struggle. Here's my culled and curated list of Cyber Monday deals and my favorite pieces from each:

Hope you find some great deals and stay warm this Cyber Monday! x, Tam

Weekend White Denim

White denim

Leopard clutch + Manolo BBs

Clare V Leopard Clutch
Top: Urban Outfitters | Jeans: 7 For All Mankind | Shoes: Manolo Blahnik | Clutch: Clare V | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Necklace: Loren Hope c/o Rocksbox (detailed Rocksbox review here) | Watch: Michele | Bracelets: David Yurman

Summer may be on its way out, but I am definitely not giving up wearing my favorite white jeans anytime soon. I just replaced my previous much-loved pair of 7FAM skinnies (I just looked, and they appeared in about ten posts!). I'm loving my shiny new pair and have been wearing them too much to hand them over to the tailor just yet for hemming. The upcoming weekend weather forecast is promising highs of up to 90, so I am looking forward to savoring the last bits of summer while I can.

Hope you're having a great week!

Beach coverup + floppy hat

Vacation look

Florida sun
Cover-up: Forever 21 (old) | Shoes: Splendid | Hat: J.Crew | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Necklaces: Brian Gavin, Theresa Mink (similar here) | Watch: Michael Kors

Sharing another vacation look with you on this gorgeous Monday. Although these photos were taken while I was in Florida, it was warm enough this weekend in Denver to spend a few hours by the pool (so crazy for March!). I'm gearing up for a crazy week at work this week as I prepare for another sunny getaway soon. Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Happy Monday!

Black / White / Weekend

OPI you're such a budapest

Black + white + teal Manolos

Pattern mix in black + white
Jacket: ZARA | Top: Urban Outfitters | Jeans: rag + bone | Shoes: Manolo Blahnik 'BB' (review here) | Bag: Valentino | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Scarf: H&M | Watch: Michael Kors | Necklaces: Brian Gavin, Theresa Mink, BR | Bracelet: David Yurman | Rings: Vintage, SIX | Nails: OPI 'You're Such a Budapest'

Last weekend was one of the best I've had in a while--two of my very best friends who live much too far away came to visit, and we hit up about half the restaurants on this NYT What to Do in Denver list. I probably gained several pounds between Sean's amazing home cooking and brunch at Lucile's and Root Down, and an unreal dinner at Acorn at the Source. Hope you had a lovely week!

Happy Friday!

Topshop Petites: Summery Crop Top + Lemon Print

Topshop Lemon Skort

Lemon print + paisley cutout detail

Topshop Petite Lemon Print
Top: Topshop | Skort: Topshop (I'm wearing the petite version--regular version here) | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Shoes: Ann Taylor | Bag: Reed Krakoff | Necklaces: Brian Gavin, Theresa Mink | Bracelets: Ann Taylor, J.Crew | Watch: Michael Kors | Lips: NARS 'Red Square'

All the lemon prints I've been seeing everywhere have reminded me of happy times with my family on vacation on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. We stayed at a lovely place above Sorrento, and we saw lemons and lemon products all over. When I spotted this lemon-printed skort at Topshop, I decided I'd take the plunge and order it since the print evoked such great summer memories.

This was my first order from Topshop, and I was pretty happy with it. When I visited a physical store in Chicago (we have yet to get one in Denver), I didn't purchase anything as they didn't have much of a petites selection, and the pieces seemed a little pricey for the quality. I'm glad I ended up giving it another try as I loved both the skort and paisley cut-out crop top I'm wearing here. I ordered both of these pieces in a 0 petite, and both fit me well, although I probably would have also been fine sizing up in the top. I found the fit to be similar to ASOS' Petite 0 or 1 or H&M's size 2, so a little smaller than the standard American 00P.

I was happy with the quality on both of these pieces, but I still feel like I have to really love a piece before I'm ready to pay full price at Topshop. I had fallen for and ordered this embellished top from the regular-sized collection, but the proportions just weren't right for my frame, so it's headed back.

Hope you're enjoying the official start of summer!

Directional Stripes

Anthropologie Pieced Column Dress

Stuart Weitzman Platswoon

Pieced Column Dress

Tracy Reese Directional Dress
Dress: Plenty by Tracy Reese via Anthropologie Petites (runs small--I'm wearing an XSP) | Sunglasses: Karen Walker "Super Duper Strength" | Shoes: Stuart Weitzman| Bag: kate spade new york | Bracelets: J.Crew, H&M c/o, David Yurman | Watch: Michael Kors

I wore this fun Plenty by Tracy Reese dress for a Sunday date night with my soon-to-be husband. I had intended to potentially wear this dress to work when I ordered it, but it runs a bit small, and I decided once I put it on that it was definitely not work-appropriate. I was considering returning it, but it's comfortable and flattering, and great for cooler nights out because of the long sleeves. Although it seems like petite sizing is sold out at Anthropologie, I think the stretchiness and shape of this dress would make it a good fit in regular sizing (I'd suggest ordering your normal size in regular if you're petite; order one size up if you're not).

Have a great Monday!

Coat Blue

J.Crew Townhouse Coat

Coach Bag + Michael Kors Watch

Cobalt J.Crew Coat
Coat: J.Crew via Poshmark (similar here) | Jeans: J Brand | Boots: Steve Madden (similar style here) | Bag: Coach | Bracelets: David Yurman | Watch: Michael Kors

It was a chilly weekend in Denver, but spring is just around the corner. A bright-colored trench coat like the one I'm wearing here is a great transitional piece for breezy spring days.

Have a great week!

Casual Tux

J.Crew Tuxedo Skirt

Tux Skirt Details

Zara Tri-Color D'Orsay
Top: Forever 21 | Skirt: J.Crew (currently out of stock) | Sunglasses: Chloe | Shoes: Zara | Necklaces: Brian Gavin, Vintage, Banana Republic | Bracelets: J.Crew, H&M c/o

This tuxedo-detailed skirt caught my eye at J.Crew the first time it was available, but I didn't snag it quickly enough, and my size sold out. A purchase on Poshmark and a few alterations later, and I'm finally able to wear it! I'm definitely missing the bare-legs weather we had last week right now--this spot of pavement where I'm standing in these photos is currently under an inch or two of ice. Hope you're all staying warm!

Weekend Wear: Cargos & Manolos

Zara Leather Jacket

Manolo Blahnik Carolyne

JCrew Tipped Shirt & Statement Necklace
Jacket: ZARA (old, great petite-friendly option here) | Shirt: J.Crew (similar here) | Pants: American Eagle (love these from J Brand--on sale here if you're my size) | Sunglasses: Valentino | Shoes: Manolo Blahnik | Bag: 3.1 phillip lim, available at Barney's or Otte NY (read my review) | Necklace: J.Crew Factory | Bracelets: David Yurman, Tiffany | Watch: Michele

It was an absolutely gorgeous holiday weekend in Colorado, so I decided to ditch my usual boots-and-wool-coat combo for some pretty pumps and my favorite leather jacket when I headed out to brunch (for any Denverites wondering, I went to this lovely place). Hope all of you got to enjoy a long weekend and some warm temperatures, too!

Let It Snow!

J.Crew Stripe Excursion Vest

J.Crew Flower Statement Necklace

J.Crew Excursion Vest in Stripe
Sweater: J.Crew Factory (in another color here} | Shirt (layered under): Abercrombie | Vest: J.Crew (currently on sale + free ship with code GIFTNOW) | Jeans: 7 For All Mankind | Sunglasses: Valentino | Boots: MICHAEL (this season's) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Necklace: J.Crew Factory | Bracelets: Ann Taylor, H&M c/o | Watch: Michele

Our crazy cold snap is gone today, but these pics from the weekend show how chilly and snowy it was here! Lots of layers made a walk in the park a lot cozier. Hope temperatures everywhere else are climbing this week, too!
