This pretty polka dot dress has been sitting in my closet unworn since its last outing over a year ago, so I decided to try styling it as a skirt. I loved the result--pretty, feminine, and more casual than the dress on its own. (Added bonus: styling a dress this way gives me the opportunity to wear the knotted shirt trend without the risk of midriff peeking out at an inopportune moment!)
Love this! I always try to wear the knotted shirt but I am so with you on the fear of accidental belly button flashing. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteHey Tam! Guess what? I was just looking at this pretty dress on my Pinterest board yesterday. I love it, and I love how you've styled it today too. I just bought some polka dot fabric to make my own outfit.

I love the pattern mix in this outfit! So cute
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea wearing this pretty dress as a skirt! Sometimes we have "treasures" berried underneath our closet we don't even know :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun combination...I would never have thought to combine these, but I love it!
ReplyDeletePlaid and polka dots?! Let me add this to my print-mixing to-do list! :)

I LOVE this dress as a skirt Tam! The shape is gorgeous and so ladylike on you. I'm also obsessed with the way you layered your shirts.

This is such a fun outfit, I have yet to try the knotted shirt style because I'm afraid of baring some skin in the wrong occasion, but I'll definitely give this styling combination a try :)
ReplyDeleteLove this! It's vintage and modern looking at the same time :)
ReplyDeleteLove this dress worn as a skirt - great way to maximize such a stunning piece!

Polka dots are so happy, I really just can't stand it! Isn't it fun to wear dresses as skirts? I figured out a way to wear a fringed cocktail dress as a skirt to work (I am a teacher) and I got tons of compliments! I adore that you paired dots with plaid in such fun colours! Great styling! Win a pair of eyeglasses or sunglasses from Firmoo!
