I'm so excited to share a bit of fashion + lettering love with you today. Recently, I teamed up with Kristina of Peace Love & Tulle to create a fun, unique tee that celebrated our "joy of life." It was so much fun to work with the lovely and talented Kristina and to turn my calligraphy into something wearable.
The "joie de vivre" lettering was first done with a dip pen and ink on paper, then digitized and screen-printed onto these soft, flattering shirts. The shirts are available in the Peace Love & Tulle online boutique if you want to snag one of your own (be aware that they do run a bit small--I'm wearing a size S here).

Tam, I love your lipstick here! What kind is it?
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in "Yu."
DeleteBrilliant idea to combine your love of calligraphy with your impeccable style Tam! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit! I have an adorable leopard print cardigan buried in my closet somewhere that I need to revisit!
ReplyDeleteHi Tam! I love your calligraphy (the shirt is super cute, too!) :) How did you learn how to do it?

Thank you! I am self-taught. I decided it was something I was going to try and learn about a year ago. Lots of Internet reading, a couple books, and many awful-looking practice sheets later, I was in love and wanted to letter everything. I found that lots of practice, patience, and the right supplies are the keys to lettering success.
DeleteSomeday, whenever I finally conquer the need for sleep, I'm planning to have a second blog/site/shop just for calligraphy with lots of tips and tricks and such.
Looking forward to your second blog/site/shop!!
DeleteLove the shirt and probably will be ordering one soon. Questions for you: do you do wedding calligraphy? If you do, how much do you charge?
ReplyDeleteThanks! You should definitely order a shirt! They are so soft and comfy.
DeleteYes, I do wedding calligraphy. The prices depend so much on the project that it would probably be best if you emailed me and gave me a little more detail as to what you have in mind (just click "contact" in the navigation bar above).
Absolutely love this, pretty girl!!! I love how you paired it with the leopard cardigan!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! Really pretty bracelet!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love how you paired the tee with the leopard card! So cute!
